Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly one of the clubs keen on signing the Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.

The 26-year-old has been a key player for Leicester since joining them in 2016 and he has proven his quality in the Premier League over the years. He has been outstanding for Leicester in the Championship this season as well and a number of European clubs are thought to be keen on the player.

A report from TeamTalk claims that Tottenham are ‘considering a January approach’ for the midfielder with 192 Premier League appearances.

The midfielder will be out of contract at the end of the season and he will be able to secure a pre-contract agreement with a new club in January. It remains to be seen whether Leicester are prepared to cash in on him for a nominal price during the January transfer window in order to avoid losing him for free next summer.

Tottenham need to add more depth to their midfield and the arrival of Ndidi would allow Ange Postecoglou to rotate key players like Yves Bissouma. In addition to that, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from the club and Tottenham will have to replace him.

The opportunity to play for a top Premier League club will be an attractive proposition for the 26-year-old and he will be tempted to join the north London club if there is a concrete proposal on the table.

Tottenham signed James Maddison from Leicester at the start of the season and he has been outstanding for them. They will hope to get a deal for Ndidi across the line as well.
