Denver Nuggets Biggest Strength in 2024 NBA Playoffs Revealed
Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Nuggets are in big trouble against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but despite that, ESPN recently spoke about what their greatest strength is.

After defeating LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, the Denver Nuggets are officially in some serious trouble in the second round. The Minnesota Timberwolves have jumped them early, stealing more than just homecourt.

Despite being at home the last two games, the Nuggets are down 0-2 against the Timberwolves in the second round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs. While Denver is certainly talented enough to make a comeback in the series, it is going to be a tough road.

Recently, ESPN spoke about what the biggest strength of the Nuggets is. Here’s what they had to say.

There might not be a more lethal and unstoppable action in the league than Murray and Jokic’s two-man game — something the Los Angeles Lakers undoubtedly grew tired of seeing during the first-round gentleman’s sweep by Denver. In that series, the Nuggets scored a whopping 125 points per 100 possessions in fourth quarters with Jokic screening for Murray, according to Second Spectrum. The chemistry between those two helped Denver outscore opponents by a league-best 24.5 points per 100 possessions during the regular season in clutch scenarios.

The duo of Murray and Jokic is certainly one of the best in the league, as Jokic is arguably the best player in the NBA and a potential MVP once again. However, the Nuggets need them to really snap out of their funk and do it quickly.

In Game 2 especially, neither Jokic nor Murray played well, which is very surprising considering they lost Game 1 at home. Frustration set in for Murray in the game, as he was caught throwing a heating pad near the court. Luckily for Murray and the Nuggets, he won’t be suspended for his actions.

With two games coming up on the road against the Nuggets.
