Boston Celtics: Jayson Tatum Reacts to Jaylen Brown’s 32-Point Explosion in Game 1 Win Vs. Cavaliers
Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Celtics did not require a typical Jayson Tatum performance from Jayson Tatum in their Game 1 blowout win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Celtics superstar had a pretty easygoing evening as teammate Jaylen Brown took over for Boston.

The Cavs had no answer for Brown and his hot hand, and it resulted in a lopsided 120-95 victory in favor of the Celtics, who have now drawn first blood in this second-round playoff series.

Boston Celtics News: Jayson Tatum Sounds Off on Jaylen Brown’s Big Night

Brown went off on Tuesday night, dropping a team-high 32 points on 12-of-18 from the floor. After the game, Tatum had nothing but good things to say about another vintage postseason performance by Brown:

“It was great. He was in a great mode tonight,” Tatum said, via Daniel Donabedian of ClutchPoints. “He was making timely plays when maybe they were about to go on a run or something.”

Tatum also sounded off on Brown reaping the rewards of his hard work. Tatum has been a first-hand witness to everything that Brown does behind the scenes through the years, and the former is just delighted to see this all pay off for his superstar teammate:

“Just year after year, things continue to slow down for him,” Tatum said. “I see every day the work that he puts in on the court and watching film to study those reads and things like that.”

With Tatum and Brown playing like they have been of late, the Cavs are going to have a very difficult task ahead of them. Be that as it may, the two Celtics superstars will be the first to say that it would be foolish to count Donovan Mitchell and Co. at this point in the series.
