Golf best bets: Outright picks for LIV Golf Adelaide

If you've been paying attention to our golf picks, you know we nailed Dean Burmester (+3000) at LIV Golf Miami for our second outright winner of the LIV season. The rival tour heads to Australia this week for the second edition of LIV Golf Adelaide at The Grange Golf Club.

The Grange is a short, 6,946-yard course that yields a ton of birdies. Talor Gooch won this event at 19 under par last year, so we're looking for elite birdie-makers with our three outright picks for LIV Golf Adelaide.

Louis Oosthuizen (+2000 FanDuel)

Louis Oosthuizen wasn't in Augusta for The Masters two weeks ago, but he's been quietly playing some stellar golf over the last few months. The South African won back-to-back tournaments on the DP World Tour in December, and he's finished solo second, T2, T19 and T7 in his last four starts worldwide.

Oosthuizen ranks first on LIV this season in scrambling, second in putting average and fourth in birdie average. He also finished T11 at The Grange last year.

Dustin Johnson (+2200 FD)

It's still wild to see Dustin Johnson at 22/1 to win a golf tournament with 54 players in the field. The 39-year-old struggled at The Masters with a missed cut, but he won in Las Vegas earlier this season and finished T5 in Mayakoba. When he's on, Johnson can still fill it up with the best of them.

This season, Johnson ranks 10th on LIV in driving distance, ninth in greens in regulation percentage and seventh in birdie average. DJ already has three wins on his LIV Golf resume, so we'll gladly take him at this price nearly every time.

Matthew Wolff (+4100 FD)

This is strictly a ceiling play on one of the most volatile professional golfers in the world. Matthew Wolff can shoot 79 one day, then wake up the next morning and fire a 62 with two eagles on the same golf course. That upside is exactly what we're looking for on an easy golf course like The Grange.

Wolff crushes the ball off the tee, and he ranks sixth on LIV this season in putting average. Coming off a T3 finish in Miami, it feels like a good time to jump on Wolff at a big price.
